Winter is just cruel for dry skin. Cold air, dry indoor heat, and low humidity levels can all zap your skin of moisture and increase the dullness.
We are told drinking liters and liters of water is the best way to deal with dry and dull skin. They are not wrong though, you will see the results, the difference is it is like a turtle winning a race, and honestly who wants to wait for that?
People go for chemical-based products, but they have their own cons, like giving an instant glow with years of damage, and being pricey adds to the mix.
Home remedies are the best of both worlds literally! Honey, Rose Water, Coconut Oil, Milk, and Aloe Vera Gel are the best friends we didn’t know we needed.
DIY #1
Mix 1 tablespoon of Kumkumadi Aloevera Gel, 1 teaspoon of Coffee, 1 tablespoon of Sugar, and 1 tablespoon of Gram Four (Besan) and prepare a paste.
Use this twice a week. This paste works as a scrub on your skin and helps you peel off all the dry and dead skin. Aloe Vera Gel moisturizes the skin and gives it that smooth texture. Sugar works as a scrub and caffeine helps in de-tanning.
DIY #2
Mix 1 teaspoon of rose water, 1 tablespoon of milk, and a few drops of glycerin.
Use this daily while bathing and you will see a drastic change. Milk mixed with rose water helps in giving that natural glow we are all looking for. And when in hurry simply apply Indian Rose body lotion for nourished and glowing skin.
DIY #3
Mix ½ teaspoon turmeric power, few drops of olive oil, ½ tablespoon honey, and 1 tablespoon gram flour (Besan).
Honey is a perfect beauty remedy. It helps with acne, and dull skin and when mixed with olive oil is a solution for dryness. Whereas turmeric is an antibacterial that effectively stops the growth of acne-causing bacteria. Apply it for 15-20 mins and then wash it with lukewarm water before your night skincare regime twice a week.
DIY #4
Add rose water and a few drops of coconut oil or your choice of oil. Spray this as a toner every day and you will see a visible change as the coconut oil will help in nourishing the skin and rose water is like a natural toner that helps you balance the PH level before applying any makeup.
