Key Account Manager - Modern Trade

Reports To: National Sales Manager

We offer a broad range of Ayurvedic beauty and wellness products, crafted especially to resonate with the lifestyle of today's youth. T.A.C has a robust omnichannel presence in India and caters to an international customer base too.


1.   Key Account Management:

·    Build and maintain strong relationships with key modern trade accounts focusing on business growth, category management and customer satisfaction.

·    Collaborate with key accounts to develop joint business plans to drive business growth, promotions and marketing activities to maximize sales opportunities, and enhance brand visibility.

·    Monitor and analyze sales performance data, identifying opportunities for growth and proactively addressing challenges.

·    Negotiate and manage contracts, terms, and conditions with key accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.

2.   Sales Strategy and Planning

·    Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for modern trade channels, including retain chains, supermarkets, hypermarkets and departmental stores aligning with the company's objectives and sales targets.

·    Identify market opportunities, trends, and customer preferences within modern trade, providing insights to guide product positioning and sales strategies.

·    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation of sales plans and promotional activities.

·    Define sales objectives, targets and KPIs, aligning them with overall business goals.

3.   Sales Forecasting and Performance Tracking:

·    Develop accurate sales forecasts and budgets for modern trade channels, closely monitoring performance against targets.

·    Analyze sales data and market trends, providing insights and recommendations to optimize sales growth and improve operational efficiency.

·    Regularly report on sales performance, KPIs, and market trends to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and action plans.

4.   Business Development:

·    Identify and evaluate new business opportunities within modern trade channels, including new retail partners, expansion into new regions, and product placement strategies.

·    Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify potential threats and opportunities, adapting strategies accordingly.

·    Collaborate with the marketing team to develop channel-specific marketing campaigns, promotions, and initiatives to drive sales growth.

5.   Cross-functional Collaboration:

· Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including marketing, supply chain, NPD and finance teams, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies, alignment in brand positioning, new product launches and achievement of business goals.

·  Provide insights and feedback from key accounts to inform product development, pricing, and marketing strategies.

·  Resolve customer issues, manage order fulfilment, and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.

. Lead resource for planning and negotiating for in-store activations, merchandising, and sell-out plans with the accounts.

. Manage Accounts receivables, Responsible for debt collection and resolving all long outstanding debts


·   Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA is a plus.

·  8-10 years of progressive experience in key account management within modern trade channels, preferably within the beauty, wellness or FMCG industry.

·  Harnessing existing relationships with large modern trade accounts.

·  Proven track record of driving sales growth and achieving targets in a key account management role.

·  Strong negotiation, communication and relationship building skills.

·  Analytical mindset with the ability to leverage data and market insights for strategic decision-making.

· Proficiency in sales analytics tools, CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.

·  Willingness to travel.

. Must have worked in an MT environment for 4-5 years in an NKAM profile.
